“To arrive at deep black is to go through all the shades of gray that are the representation of shadow on paper. In the absolute, you only need light and shadow to understand the physical world.”
Born in 1995, Clovis Rétif first studied design and architecture, working in this field for three years. He then left Paris and moved to Montreal to devote himself fully to drawing. Today, he lives and works between Brussels and Paris.
