To coincide with the exhibition FREE JAZZ, Henri Matisse et…, Drawing Lab invites you to an exceptional encounter based on Henri Matisse’s album Jazz.

Anne Coron, a leading specialist in gouache cut-outs and the Jazz album, will talk to Claudine Grammont, head of the graphic arts department and curator of the exhibition, as well as two guest artists, to decipher this emblematic work, from its first cut-outs to its publication, via its unique creative process.

This talk is an opportunity to delve into the heart of one of Matisse’s masterpieces, which revolutionized the relationship between text and image and turned the book into a veritable space for plastic experimentation.
