The TOUT UN FILM! group exhibition at Drawing Lab and its theme around cinema and drawing prompted me to produce new research in my graphic work (new forms of composition). And all within the framework of a very pleasant professional partnership. I don’t yet know what this experience will bring me in the future in terms of new encounters and partnerships, but we’ll make sure to maintain these positive and creative relationships.
A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Rennes, Antoine Marquis is an active member of a collective that combines electronic music and visual arts. He arrived in Paris in 1998. His frequent visits to the bookshop Un Regard Moderne and his encounters with artists who shared the same references – detective novels, comic strips, horror films, erotic and fantastic literature – enabled him to evolve first within an alternative scene, then to emerge more institutionally with this generation who defended drawing in all its possible registers.
