Jean-Christophe Norman
Lives and works in Marseille, France
In the middle of his life, Jean-Christophe Norman, a mountaineer and climber, contracted a pulmonary disease that brought him to the brink of death. Since this critical phase, he has developed an artistic practice centered on repetition, walking, and the creation of mental landscapes painted with pages from iconic literary works: James Joyce’s Ulysses, Hans Henny Jahnn’s Le Fleuve sans rives, and One Thousand and One Nights. His works endlessly push the question of the end.
