DRAWING PERFORMANCES : Diogo Pimentão
Wednesday, January 28, 2026, 7pm: Diogo Pimentão demonstrates the expansive potential of drawing-based practices. Some of his works on paper are shaped and shaded with graphite; this densely applied mineral imparts a metallic sheen to the surface. These shimmering sheets are then folded and layered to form structures that appear to be made of welded metal rather than pencil and paper, often interacting directly with the architecture of the venues where they are presented.
By altering perceptions of materiality and space, his works invite viewers to reconsider their surroundings, evolving their understanding of depth, weight and structure through the act of looking and moving around the exhibition space.
