Factory II
Launched by the Drawing Society, in collaboration with the National Center for Visual Arts (CNAP), and in partnership with SOFERIM, Drawing Factory II has set up shop at 61 Rue de Richelieu, in Paris’s 2nd arrondissement.
Conceived as a temporary space for creation, research and encounters, this second edition welcomed artists selected following a call for applications from October 10 to 28, 2025. Residents joined the studios on November 4, 2025, for occupation until April 30, 2026.
ABOUT THE DRAWING FACTORY II
Spread over 1,500 m², Drawing Factory II featured 32 studios, a communal foyer and meeting rooms. The studios, ranging in size from 10 to 40 m², provided artists with a framework conducive to collective work, experimentation with new techniques and the development of large-scale projects.
The third level was dedicated to meetings, workshops and participatory workshops, making Drawing Factory II a place not only for production, but also for exchange and transmission of knowledge about contemporary drawing.
Throughout its six-month occupation, Drawing Factory II offered a program of workshops, meetings and events, encouraging collaboration between artists, professionals and the public.
These times of sharing opened up the residency beyond the workshops, creating moments of dialogue around contemporary drawing practices and the multiple forms they can take today.
Drawing Together
A look back at " Drawing Together," the closing event of the Drawing Factory I residency.
Conceived as an opportunity for sharing and learning, Drawing Together brought together artists, the public, and professionals for an exhibition, family workshops, and discussions organized by the Cnap.
A final gathering to celebrate the end of this group residency and continue the discussion on contemporary drawing.

The Selection Committee
The artists in Drawing Factory II were selected by a committee made up of
Simon André-Deconchat, deputy director of the Centre national des arts plastiques;
Marianne Dollo, art advisor and collector;
Christine Phal, founder of Drawing Lab;
Carine Roma, artistic director of Espace Jacques Villeglé;
Carine Tissot, president of the Drawing Society;
Henri Van Melle, president of Jardiniers Montrouge;
and Jérôme Zonder, artist.
CNAP, partner of the residency
As a partner of Drawing Factory II, the Centre national des arts plastiques also used the residency space to organize several meetings bringing together artists and professionals to discuss its support programs.
As part of the 30th anniversary of the publication Graphisme en France, published annually by the CNAP, special attention was also paid to the power of images and the place of graphic design in the public arena, notably through the commissioning of Messages/Images, graphisme d'intérêt général posters.
