Born in Caen in 1994 and a 2016 graduate of the École Supérieure d’Art et Médias de Caen, Louise Aleksiejew is simultaneously developing her practice as a visual artist, theorist and comic book author. Proteriform, but always provoked by drawing, her work questions systems of representation and their narrative powers. Her work, which is supported by the DRAC Île-de-France, is regularly exhibited in art centers, private spaces, artist-run spaces, fairs and publications, as well as in various private and public collections. Louise Aleksiejew has been represented by Galerie Bernard Jordan since 2023. In parallel with her solo practice, Louise Aleksiejew works in duo with visual artist Antoine Medes, and extends her research into the genealogy of graphic forms through teaching and workshops at art schools.
