Ouvrir une fenêtre sur le monde – Duo show at the Maison des arts plastiques Rosa Bonheur

From March 15 to April 18, 2025, the Maison des arts plastiques Rosa Bonheur presents a sensitive, immersive exhibition by two artists from complementary worlds: Thomas Tronel-Gauthier and Fabrice Cazenave. Entitled Ouvrir une fenêtre sur le monde, this artistic proposal explores the intimate relationship we have with landscape, nature and our own perception of the world.

Through their works, the two artists invite us to pass through a “window”, both literally and figuratively. An opening onto elsewhere, onto the future, but also a way of redefining the contours of our inner space. Drawing on the reflections of writer Gérard Wajcman – for whom the window is both threshold and frontier – the exhibition questions art’s capacity to transform the way we look at and relate to living things.

The landscape, central to Tronel-Gauthier and Cazenave’s work, becomes a sensitive terrain for experimentation. Natural materials, traces, imprints, gestures and interventions sculpt poetic works that reflect their itineraries and artistic residencies. Whether wild or recreated, nature becomes a mirror of emotions and a vector for shared reverie.

Organized by four hands, the exhibition is conceived as a sensory immersion, a subtle dialogue between the real and the imaginary. It highlights the beauty and fragility of living things, and reminds us how art can help us to re-enchant our daily lives.

To extend this experience, the Maison des arts plastiques also offers parent/child workshops, hands-on sessions and guided tours, enabling young and old alike to open a window on art.
