Françoise Pétrovitch in intimate dialogue with Berthe Morisot at the museum
As part of the ninth edition of its Dialogues inattendus cycle, the museum continues its commitment to bringing contemporary artists into dialogue with its historic collections. This year, Françoise Pétrovitch, a major figure on the French and international art scene, has been invited to occupy the premises from April 9 to September 14, 2025.
For this singular encounter, the artist chose another woman painter as her interlocutor: Berthe Morisot. Together, across the centuries, their works resonate with common themes such as portraiture, childhood, adolescence and intimacy. This sensitive dialogue also unfolds in their relationship with nature: Morisot’s Roses trémières respond to Pétrovitch’s Soleils, revealing an inward-looking approach, where nature becomes both motif and mirror of the soul.
