Press release

Born in Japan in 1981, Keita Mori graduated from Tokyo’s Tama University of Art and continued his studies in Paris at Ensba and Université Paris VIII. Settled in France since 2011, he is developing a singular body of work, produced exclusively with stretched and glued threads, on paper or directly on walls.

His drawings, known as “Bug reports”, are created without prior sketches, incorporating recurring elements such as “circuit” and “flow”. If the rigor of his lines impresses, it’s the poetry of accidents and unexpected details that emerges from his works.

For his new exhibition, Mori chose the title “Ito no ito”, a Japanese expression meaning both “thread design” and the double meaning of the word “ito”, thread, the foundation of his work. His drawings, sometimes straight lines, circles or ellipses, are spread out on Arches paper or transformed into monumental installations.

For over ten years, Mori has been developing this unique technique, his graphic language crossing borders between Europe and Japan.
