Press release
Bringing together art, science and society, Médecine Castor is a territorial project with the artist Suzanne Husky, working in close collaboration with several partners from the worlds of water and art in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, and with citizens, the public, artists, teachers and collectives. Le Confort Moderne has responded to Frac Poitou-Charentes’ invitation to take part in this terittorial alliance by programming an exhibition of Suzanne Husky’s work for autumn 2027.
Ahead of the opening of a first exhibition at Rurart, Confort Moderne welcomes the artist for a conference to launch the Poitievin part of this project.
“Castor Medicine. Pour des alliances inter-espèces face au chaos climatique” is supported by the Daniel et Nina Carasso Foundation and by the visual arts sector contract supported by the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Ministère de la culture DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the Astre network.
In collaboration with the alliance peuple castor movement, the three-year project will combine artistic and scientific mediation, and the production and dissemination of works of art, beaver-mimetic technical works and knowledge. Pilot projects will raise public awareness of river health and the importance of beavers in river management.
