Carrying out the Free project in 2018 at Drawing Lab, enabled me to reaffirm in my work that beyond the question of the image and its reading, the question of the “act of drawing” was just as central to my production. This is as much a personal relationship to my research as a dialogue with the viewer.
Valentin van der Meulen has been represented for several years by galleries in Zurich, Hamburg and Paris. Present in several private collections in France and abroad, such as the Fondation Francés, his work can be found in institutional exhibitions such as
