Sumiko Oé-Gottini was born in Japan and lives in France. She is an artist-researcher specializing in color, curator and curatorial member of AICA (Association Internationale des Critiques d’Art). Trained as a linguist and colorist, she produces “chromatic essays”, writing in French, Japanese and color. Since 2011, she has been developing “chromatic mediation”, an artistic and social action based on her research into color and sensory design. Winner of the 2024 residency programs of the Anni & Josef Albers Foundation (USA) and the Fondation d’Entreprise Martell, she has been named one of the “100 Femmes de Culture 2025” in the contemporary art category.
