Noémie Sauve
Born in Romans (26) in 1980
Lives and works in Paris
A self-taught artist, draughtswoman and sculptor, she sets out to draw up a plastic iconography of fantasies, both contemporary and from the past, around domestication (of the elements, animals and landscapes), through the exploration of both forms and materials. She regularly collaborates with a wide range of specialists (biological engineers, vulcanologists, taxonomists, etc.) and strives to highlight the complexity of living organisms and their actions as a principle of fundamental autonomy. Selected by the jury for the Tara Pacific artist residency, she left on board the scientific schooner in 2017- Fondation Tara Océan & Agnès b.
She is regularly invited to take part in projects combining art and science, such as The Possible Island on Vulcano Island (Sicily) in 2021. Her artistic practice also irrigates many related fields in which she is fully involved, such as the creation of the Fonds d’Art Contemporain Agricole de l’association Clinamen (FACAC).
