Gabriela Albergaria was born in Vale de Cambra, Portugal, in 1965. She lives and works in Brussels and Lisbon. In 1990, she graduated in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto. She received a grant from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation between 1991 and 1993. Since 1999, she has regularly participated in exhibitions.
