Clara Cimelli, born in Paris in 1997, is a visual artist who graduated from the Beaux-Arts in Lyon (2019) and Marseille (2021). She lives and works between Paris and Vitry-sur-Seine. Her work combines drawing, clothing, volume and scenography within the Brigands collective. She explores spaces of celebration and euphoria, transposing their energy into her productions, inspired by Simone Martini or Fra Angelico for their bright colors and distorted perspectives. She also combines references to cartoons such as Oggy and the Cockroaches, or old McDonald’s ads, for their intense colors and infinite physical deformations where nothing is incoherent and everything becomes possible. Here, she seeks a tension between accumulation, disorder and vitality, as if after a celebration.
