Free is an art installation created by the artist Valentin van der Meulen. This art installation offers the visitors to discover his contemporary drawings, which are inspired from pictures of persons in the heat of the action, and which question the codes of news images. He encourages the visitors to interrogate the importance and the influence of images in our today’s society, in which media and social networks are constantly invading our everyday life. He wishes, as well, to make the visitors reflect on the process of fabrication of an artwork.  After a moment of contemplation, the visitors are invited to participate and step in directly on the artworks with the help of tools put at their disposal. They are free to write, comment, color, cover up, cross out, or express themselves on the artworks.
